Newcastle Manager betting news

Following the sacking of Newcastle United Manager Graeme Souness on Thursday, betfair have been quick to open a market for the next Permanent Newcastle Manager.

Alan Shearer, the club captain, has been installed as favorite after previously making clear his intentions to move into management when he retires from playing at the end of the season. Whether he has the experience to take on such a big job for his first managerial role is yet to be seen.

Other names that have been linked with the job include Sven Goran Eriksson who will be leaving England after the World cup this summer. Former boss Kevin Keegan has also attracted money. Keegan is currently out of work since leaving Manchester City, and guided Newcastle to 2nd place in the Premiership in the mid 1990’s.

Other Premiership Manager’s who have been linked to the job are Steve Bruce, Alan Curbishley, Sam Allardyce, and Alan Pardew.
